The Word of God....The Saint John's Bible

Most of you know that I am studying this next year at St. John's School of Theology in Collegeville, Minnesota.  This is a time of learning and growing, both spiritually and academically, while I pursue courses in Scripture and Monastic Studies.  This time in an of itself is such a blessing but yesterday and today, presented once in a life time opportunites that only happen because God lets you be in the right place and the right time.....

The first opportunity was to hear Mr. Donald Jackson, the Artistic Director of the Saint John's Bible, speak of its inception, journey, process, frustrations, collaboration and vocational dream come to reality over the past 15 year.  It was a candid look into a journey that encompassed trust, art, theology and a passion to produce a hand written Bible for the millennium that had not been done in over 500 years.

Then this evening at Vespers, the final volume of the Bible was formally presented by Donald and Mabel Jackson to Abbot John Klassen, OSB and the St. John's Abbey community.

One of these God moments would of been a blessing.....but both....well I am speechless.  So for the first time in my life, I will let the pictures tell the rest.

Thank you Jesus for the Blessings of these past few days.....you definitely get a star on your rug for taking my breath away...Sister John Paul, OSB
