It seems only fitting that today's liturgical readings involve "trust" and the request "Follow Me". I say this as I returned from St. Emma's Monastery in Greensburg, PA. where we witnessed the Sisters celebrate their Canonical Decree of Independence from St. Walburg Abbey in Eichstatt Germany. It was also the formal installation of the First Conventual Prioress, Mother Mary Anne Noll, O.S.B.
In such uncertain times and when vocations seem to be few and far between, these women follow their call to serve without fear or without hesitation. When you heard the decree read by Archabbot Douglas Nowicki, O.S.B. and Abbess Mother Franziska Klous, O.S.B. give her remarks, you sensed that the prophetic nature of this occasion was coming to fruition before our very eyes.
It is with thanksgiving that we offer prayers and congratulations to these wonderful Benedictine Sisters of St. Emma's monastery. PAX
